Narayanath Sree Mahavishnu Temple is an important temple located in the Thazhekkad region of Thrissur district in Kerala. It is also one of the rarest temples with two shrines surrounded by water throughout the year. The main deities are Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna.
Naranth Bhranthan (Naranath the Mad), the most popular among the siblings of Parayi Petta Panthirukulam, is believed to have established ('prathishta') the Narayanath Sree Mahavishnu Temple. He is believed to have grown up in Naranath Mangalam in Palakkad. The residents of Narayanamangalam illam is believed to have migrated and the illam is now located at Rayaranellur desam. Earlier the temple was known as Narayana Mangalam Mahavishnu temple and later on it was renamed as Narayanath Sree Mahavishnu Temple. The Uraymakar of this temple were the Naduvathra illam in Chalakudy, Kidangazhiyeth illam and the Kodakara kavil desath Padinjare kunnath illam.
